Country Conversion
Math Check the newspaper or television or call a local bank for the conversion rate for a Mexican peso, Canadian dollar or Euro. Tell your students a dollar amount (American) and have them convert it to another type of currency. In which countries would they get more for their dollar? Check again in a few weeks. Is the exchange rate different? What causes it to change?
Money: Bucks, Banks, And Business
Students will about monetary exchange rates and how they are constantly changing. Using this lesson, students will also convert money in any currency into its equivalent in U.S. dollars by using readily available exchange rates, published in newspapers and available online.
International Currency Exchange
Student will learn how to distinguish between three different types of national currencies and locate the countries on a world map. Students will then gather information about currency exchange rates using the Internet and chart their comparative values. Finally, students will recreate the sculptural qualities (bas relief) of the three different coins in drawings.
