Social Studies/Math Take the class to visit the United States Patent and Trademark Office at www.uspto.gov and then to the USPTO Kids. Have students test their trademark IQ by listening to a few sound marks. Ask them if they can they identify the product or service associated with each sound?

A patent for a pencil with an eraser-tip was given Hyman Lipman on March 30, 1858. Make a graph of the length of the pencils in your classroom. How many different eraser tips can you find?
