Travel Ways
Social Studies Introduce the word transportation. Guide the children in explaining the meaning and giving examples of transportation. Display pictures of a car, train, motorcycle, bus, etc. Help the children identify the pictures and compare these transportation forms. Present facts about these different forms. Invite the children to identify and defend their favorite travel ways. Extra: Show pictures and present facts about Charles Lindbergh and the airplane.
"On the Road Again": Moving People, Products, and Ideas
In this lesson students learn to identify modes of transportation and communication for moving people, products, and ideas from place to place. Students also learn the advantages and disadvantages of different modes of transportation. This lesson investigates ways in which global interdependence is altering traditional trade patterns, and encourages students to speculate on future world economic development.

After completing this lesson, students will be able to perform the following tasks with minimal difficulty; learning the rules of the different forms of transportation, such as the public bus, learn how to read the public transportation schedule, and also recognize all the possible ways of transportation.
